Residential care

We believe that the best care is tailored care. When your loved one joins us, we work with them and you to learn all about their life history, likes and dislikes. We then put together care and lifestyle plans that are tailored to their individual needs and interests. Community and companionship can be found in our sunny day room, where a cup of tea and a friendly chat are always on offer. Residents can also explore our well-stocked library of books and films to find personal entertainment. We also provide a full roster of events and entertainment, with artistic activities like art and music to promote emotional wellbeing. 

With their own room decorated and furnished to their own preferences, they’ll always have a private sanctuary when they want it. We’ll keep it spick and span as well as looking after their laundry and helping with bathing and dressing if necessary so they can look and feel their best. They’ll never be far away from an experienced team member ready to offer support at any time they need it, for any reason.

Nursing care

Our experienced nursing team is highly trained and are able to provide care for a number of physical conditions such as multiple sclerosis and stroke, as well as motor neurone disease and parkinson’s disease. Our team will produce a comprehensive plan based around your loved one’s exact needs and abilities and this will become the central reference point, for the team as well as GPs and specialist medical professionals if required.

Nursing dementia care

Our team provides nursing care to residents who are living with dementia. Our highly experienced nursing team is always available and we work closely with local healthcare teams. So if your loved one has additional physical needs in addition to a dementia diagnosis, our nursing colleagues are here to give them first class, tailored care.

Respite care

Looking after an older person at home can be exhausting physically and mentally, so Dashwood Manor offers expert short-term respite care. This allows you to relax and recharge, knowing your loved one is safe and comfortable. A change of scene is often enjoyed by everyone.  We also provide respite care when someone needs a little extra care in between leaving hospital and returning home.

End of life care

When your loved one reaches the end of their life, let our empathetic team support them, you and your family, through this emotional time. We enlist the help of GPs and clinical specialists to create a bespoke plan that fulfils your loved one’s every requirement. We will ensure dignity and comfort for your loved one’s final days and hours.

Moving into a care home can be a daunting, particularly for someone living with dementia. We take the time to get to know you and your loved one, putting each individual's needs, desires and choices at the heart of the care we provide. Our care plans are tailored to the individual and their needs, and we understand the importance of evolving them over time.

Our immediate surroundings can have a huge impact on our quality of life, particularly when trying to make sense of the world around us. We work with academic partners to create care home environments that help people living with dementia to live as independent and stress-free a life as possible.

From our carers and nurses, to our activity coordinators, chefs and maintenance teams, we will go the extra mile to build strong relationships – not just with individuals living in our care homes, but also with their friends and family.

We understand that a dementia diagnosis will affect more than just one individual, and we're here to support you and your family. Seeing a loved one change can be a difficult and heart-breaking experience and often the process of needing or delivering care can change family relationships significantly.

Namaste care

We are proud to offer namaste care to residents living with advanced dementia. The purpose of namaste care is to give comfort and pleasure through sensory stimulation. Our namaste sessions are run by trained carers and involve individual caring touch, such as a hand or foot massages, music therapy, themed sensory and gentle movement sessions, or simply reminiscing.
