We believe in enabling and inspiring residents to keep being the best they can be. We are here to support your loved one with day-to-day living. This encompasses taking medication, dressing, eating and supporting them to maintain independence and individuality.

Nursing dementia care

Our team provides nursing care to residents who are living with dementia. Our highly experienced nursing team is always available and we work closely with local healthcare teams. So if your loved one has additional physical needs in addition to a dementia diagnosis, our nursing colleagues are here to give them first class, tailored care.

Respite care

We understand caring for an older loved one at home can be physically and emotionally challenging. Our short-term respite care gives you the chance to have a holiday or the opportunity to have some time for yourself.

Our caring and attentive team are ready to welcome your loved one, and ensure their stay is a pleasant one. This can include getting involved in activities and being more active or socialising with new people.

Nursing care

Our highly trained and experienced nursing team provides round-the-clock clinical care for residents with a variety of complex needs. We work with you and your loved one to create a tailored care plan which is regularly reviewed. Our close working relationships with local healthcare teams ensures your loved one receives the best possible care.

End of life care

We believe that every person deserves to experience a dignified and respectful end to their life. Our caring and empathetic team provides sensitive end-of-life care. We work with you and your loved one, as well as local health professionals and hospice teams, to plan your loved one’s care so they receive the care they want, where and how they want it.

Understanding and getting to know you

We take the time to get to know you and your loved one. This starts from our very first conversation. We get to know what will settle them when moving in, and everything about them. We learn all about your loved one’s life story and personality, so we know what will calm them and make them happy.

Providing dementia friendly environments

Our immediate surroundings can have a huge impact on our quality of life, particularly when trying to make sense of the world around us. We work with academic partners to create care home environments that help people living with dementia – this can be from colour palettes, textures, even to sounds played!

Our dedicated people and their expertise

We believe that our people make Glastonbury Court a special place to be. Our people have been chosen for their attitude, dedication, and caring nature. The team have undertaken specialist dementia training from Worcester University, and Trudy, our Dementia Champion, has trained all colleagues at Glastonbury Court – and some relatives – to understand what it may be like to live with dementia.

Support for families and carers

We understand that a dementia diagnosis will affect more than just the individual. At Glastonbury Court we’re here to support the family too. Seeing a loved one change can be a difficult and heart-breaking experience, so we are here if you need a listening ear or if you would like to know more about local support services.

Namaste care

We are proud to offer namaste care to residents living with advanced dementia. The purpose of namaste care is to give comfort and pleasure through sensory stimulation. Our namaste sessions are run by trained carers and involve individual caring touch, such as a hand or foot massages, music therapy, themed sensory and gentle movement sessions, or simply reminiscing.
