Dementia is different for everyone, so the care we give to our residents is tailored too. Our care is led by residents, not by a routine. Every member of our team has undergone dementia training to understand what it’s like to live with dementia and how best to comfort someone who has dementia.
At Hartismere Place, we enable residents to maintain the quality of living they enjoy and sometimes even improve residents physically. We have found when people come to our home their appetite improves and they are more engaged, through holistic approaches such as namaste care which involves a range of physical, sensory, and emotional approaches.
We take the time to get to know you and your loved one; this starts from our very first conversation. We get to know what will settle them when moving in and little things they appreciate, such as if they have orange juice with their tablets or the genre of music they listen to.
We find out everything about them, their life story and personality, so we know what will calm them and ensure they are happy. No two days are the same for residents at Hartismere Place.
